Android quick news – Android M Google I/O 2015

In today’s Android quick news: Android M at the Google I/O 2015.

App permissions: With Android M the user will finally be able to control exactly what type of information an App is allowed to see. The user can determine exactly if he would like to share his age, gender, track location, or access contact lists.

The user will be prompted and can decline or accept the use of a certain feature. This way it will become more obvious to anyone who uses an Android device, how his or her personal information is used – very much like Apple iOS has been doing for a number of years. In the past it was only possible for the user to either accept or decline all app permissions before downloading an app. When the user did not accept the app permissions, it was impossible to download the app.
