Lenovo Motorola are postponing new smartwatches

Lenovo Motorola will not bring out any more new smartwatches this year. The Media reported this morning that Lenovo will pause the development of new smartwatches for the time being.

For those of you who were waiting desperately for the new Moto 360, it appears that we will have to wait. This year we will surely not see any new smartwatch developments.

Lenovo have stated that they want to wait for new and larger improvements with regard to smartwatches. Before big steps in battery improvements and new use cases have been determined, they will cease to produce new watches. It appears that we will also not see any new smartwatches in 2017.

Update of the 360

The latest Moto 360 will soon receive another software update. This has been confirmed by Lenovo. They have stated that the older versions of the Moto 360 (that came out in 2014) will NOT receive any updates anymore.

It remains to be seen how long Lenovo will continue to invest in watch development.

Lenovo says that watch growth is not strong enough and we need to make sure that the market is big enough first for it to be profitable.

Moto360 sport is super cheap right now

It Might sound a little bit ridiculous but the motor 360 sport has gotten very cheap over the last few weeks. If you like the sports watch that was built by Motorola and the lenovo in the last few months, you should definitely have a look at the Moto 360 sport.

The sports version of this watch, comes with a more sporty look hey Slick design, and the silicone band. This makes it perfect for sports activities. It is also fitted with an LCD display so that you can view screen under the sun best. The great thing as well as that it has a GPS system build in, so that you don’t need to take your phone with you when you go running or to any other types of sports activities outdoors.

You can get one of these watches for as little as $120 at the moment in the states. I saw that one EBay seller, with great ratings, has started to offer the watch at this ridiculous price. It appears that we have quite a few of them. Maybe this will mean that we will see a dramatic price drop for any of the Moto 360 watches in the near future.

If you see or have heard of any other great offers that we should know about, Then please do let me know and we will be able to spread the word to the full community and have everyone enjoyed their Moto 360 watches into future as well!

I’m looking forward to hearing from everyone and have a great day!

No new android wear watches from motorola this year

The second-generation Motorola 360 has had market well. We were sincerely hoping that Motorola or any of the other android where competitors would bring out some fantastic new watches this year.

Yet, it appears that this year we won’t be seeing any new by Motorola, Huawei or LG anymore. If you’ve been paying attention to the wearable space over the last few months you may have noticed that there is been no shortage of new android wear devices making their way to market.

Now that Apple has brought out their Apple watch to series and Samsung have delivered the S gear three watches, it appears that the other watchmakers are keeping their new products off the market. CNET has reported that neither LG or Lenovo’s Motorola have plans to release any new smart watches in the remaining months of the year. Maybe that is why it has been awfully quiet around the Motorola 360s 3rd generation Smart watch.

It looks like most of the companies are waiting for the next big push. Tech development has not gone as fast as we would’ve hoped it to go and it looks like the customers are waiting for something special. I think that it’s a good thing that tech companies are holding their product back because they are not fully happy with them. I would rather see a new innovative product by any of these companies then get a simple battery upgrade here.

We can continue to dream about new features and new products that will be brought to market in the next one or two years. I personally do not think that the android ecosystem for smart watches his dead at all. We are just taking a short break from the regular release cycles. And I am happy to see that we are not being forced to buy some Half baked product that nobody really wants to have.

At the end of the day this will help us keep a healthy ecosystem around smart watches and secure the longevity of this product group. We all know that we love our Moto360!

Problems pairing moto360 with iphone 7

There appeared to be some problems with the Motorola 360 Second generation. The issue at hand at the moment is that the Moto 360 cannot be connected to the iPhone seven. The online magazine the verge has reported that there appear to be some issues with the fossil Q and the Moto 360 to pair with the iPhone seven and the iPhone 7+.

Owners like myself of the android Smart watch have able to use their Smart watches with iPhone devices since Apple added iOS support back in August of last year.

Apple already seems to have had some problems with the release of IOS 10.0 and android watches. Google says that it is aware of the serious pairing issues.

Apple does not lets users fully use the IOS system on their android watches, but you can show some notifications on your watch if you would like. Maybe this was a problem that Apple was not aware of before releasing the iPhone seven or their new software version. The android compatibility has been a little bit of a problem child for Apple.

Although the market for smartwatches is predominantly dominated by android devices, Apple does not seem to care much about this ecosystem. We do hope that Apple will step up the game and help android users use their smart watches a lot better than they are doing at the moment. The android Smart watches simply look a lot better than the ones that Apple are producing at the moment.

Android Smart watches are faster, better looking, and better value for money than the Apple watch. Lets let’s hope that they fix this problem soon. We will keep you posted!

Waiting for Moto360 Gen 3

Most of us are eager to see the Moto360 in its third generation this year. The Moto 360 was one of the most sought after smartwatches of 2013, 2014 and 2015 – but failed to innovate in the last 12 months.

Most of us have been hoping for a long awaited update for quite some time now. The IFA in Berlin 2016 was our biggest hope so far, but we have not seen anything new from Lenovo so far.

A few things that we would love to see on the Moto360’s third generation smartwatch are features such as LTE support, GPS, finally get rid of the flat tire at the bottom of the screen, better and stronger battery life… and much more.

With some blogs claiming the Moto360 will come at a price of round about 400 dollars, we might just be in for a treat once it does drop. Lets hope we will get some more infos on the latest Moto360 some time soon.

The Motorola 360 Smartwatch was one of the most significant smart watch introductions in 2013 . Although the Apple watch got the most media attention and was probably the Smart watch that had the highest impact in the world it was not quite as innovative as the Lenovo Motorola 360.

Smart watches have become hot selling items in recent years. The most important smart watch on the market is the Apple watch. Although their are a legion of smart watches on the market today that mostly run on android.

We will keep you posted. We will continue to follow all the developments on the market in the months to come. And we hope that the that we will see a few fantastic product improvements.

The smart watch market has been a little quiet in 2016. But that doesn’t mean that nothing special is up-and-coming. Some producers such as Garmin and tom-tom have brought out some interesting Smart watches. Most of them are still focused on sports and not so much casual wear. Smart watches as an accessory or a tool for everyday use are still not that common.

It is little hard for me to understand whether this is due to the fact that the software is the bad or the battery life time of these products is simply not there where it should be.

Maybe it is something else? The early adoption rate of smart watches, especially after the introduction of the Apple watch, was quite high yet the market appears to have reached a ceiling in the very rapid rate. It appears that most young early adopters use they’re smart watches, but it’s not the only watch that they wear on a daily basis. Most watch owners use traditional watches as well as their smart watches.

The Apple watch did not seem to fit the bill for everyone, but as long as Apple and Google continue to invest Smart watches as a whole, we think that there will be quite a few product innovations in the years to come. Especially in the medical Space, as well as with a clear focus on the elderly. Health tracking and in-depth analysis of Health features Will help us better understand how are body functions and how we can prevent common diseases in the years to come.

Maybe it would help the tech industry to stop focusing on cool young audiences that only use these watches as the fashion items, but to focus more on those people that really have a need for products such as these. Of course we are not going to be able to produce one product that fits for everyone, but as a lifestyle product the smartwatch is simply not good enough at the moment.

Therefore we cannot wait to see what the next generation of Lenovo 360s will bring us…

Lenovo Teases new Moto360 Gen. 3

At the end of this month, IFA 2016 will kick off in Berlin. One of the companies scheduled to make a splash is Lenovo. It has only been a couple of months since Lenovo’s last event, where we saw the  Motorola Moto Z and Moto Z Force unveiled. Lenovo is teasing even more new stuff for IFA.

Innovation is one of the hardest things to do in Tech, yet gradual changes seem to be taking longer than ever at the moment in the world of smart watches

The video above specifically mentions new Moto Mods, tablets, and a 3rd-gen Moto 360. The slogan for Lenovo’s presentation this year is “devices that blur the lines of creativity and productivity.” That doesn’t give us many clues about the new devices, but when have marketing slogans been anything but cryptic? One thing we could see is the camera Mod that showed up in leaked renders before the launch of the Moto Z.

It would also be cool to see more about the bendable tablet and phone that Lenovo showed off at Tech World in June. What are you looking to see from Lenovo? Are you waiting for the next Moto 360? We have been waiting for the next generation Moto 360 for quite some time now. In a world of technical innovations, it is not that easy to understand why it is taking Lenovo this long to come up with a new product.

Maybe it is because smart watches are still in a niche market.

Lenovo has been one of the most innovative companies on the market today with their the Foldable laptops and beautifully designed tablets. Yet wearables are not something that they have been very good at so far. The last generation smart watch was brought out by Motorola and not by Lenovo so we will have to see whether Lenovo Will be able to live up to the expectations and especially the innovation expectations that the fanboys have for the smart watches today.

The IFA in Berlin has gotten off to a great start. We are still waiting for Smart watch introductions by Lenovo though. As soon as we find some more information on the future of smart watches that will come out and be brought out by Lenovo, we will post it right here on Moto360-guide.com.

Zenwatch 3 has same flat tire as Moto360

At the IFA in Berlin this week, ASUS showed off its new Zenwatch 3. It is very similar to the Moto 360 and comes in a round design for the first time.

Interestingly enough, the Zenwatch 3 has the same black strip at the bottom of the screen as the Moto360’s. A design flaw that ASUS did not manage to fix either, or did not want to and bought the same round faces as Motorola did. For the Moto360 this is great news, but I do hope that someone will manage to fix this little design flaw and issue.

To all of those at ASUS, welcome to 2012 / The Moto360 did what you guys just put on the market a few years ago already… Nothing innovative, nothing new, nothing cool about the ASUS Zenwatch 3. All in all… Just a big disappointment.

Moto X Pure comes with free Moto 360 Sport

Great news for those of you who were waiting for the next Moto X Pure to drop. When you buy a Moto X Pure, you will get a Moto 360 Sport Smartwatch with it… For Free…! There is no catch at all. The Moto X Pure will set you back about 350 Dollars, but you will get this great watch to go with it.

Samsung updates its Gear S2 Smartwatch with iOS support

Samsung has updated its latest smart watch the S Gear 2nd Generation. The S Gear is currently one of the most attractive smart watches on the market, next to the Moto360 of course.

Introduced in August of 2015, the Gear S2 is Samsung’s latest smart watch and the first to ship with a round display. While the first versions of the Gear S2 were originally only available in black or silver with matching rubber bands, Samsung introduced higher-end 18-karat rose gold and platinum plated versions to better compete with the more expensive Apple Watch models.

The bezel is something that is unique to the Samsung S Gear II, it helps the user to navigate its way through various screens and is quite intuitive. Samsungs premium model smart watch is round just like the Moto360, yet it is more of a sporty looking watch than the classic Moto.

The health tracking features are impressive though, and set it apart nicely from the competition. The Gear S II is probable the best smart watch on the market today / especially for Android, when you are looking for a sporty type/fitness tracking watch.

Titzen operating system / iOS support

Samsungs operating system “Titzen” is slowly starting to blossom. Titzen is now capable of communicating a lot better with Android, but also iOS support is said to be rolled out in the next few days or weeks / it will definitely not take long anymore until a more complete iOS supporting version will be released.

Rolling out full fledged iOS support is vital to Samsung if it would really like to conquer a larger marketshare than that it already has. The Applewatch is next to the Pebble Time, the only real alternative for anyone using an iPhone / a large market to tap into, especially in the USA, Canada and Mainland Europe.

The Moto360 is also able to communicate with any iOS device, but only running the android wear application / which is available on the iOS AppStore. The android wear app enables us to receive straightforward one way notifications, but does not support iMessaging or other iOS native apps.

XDA forum members have also been able to download the test app and have provided details on its functionality. The Gear S2 iOS app will be able to deliver notifications to the smart watch, and it will be able to install and manage apps from the Gear store on the device. According to testers, while the Gear S2 can receive notifications from the iPhone, replies are not currently possible, and the Samsung Gear S2 Lite app has to be running in the background for the connection between the watch and the app to be maintained.

We will do a full on comparison between the Samsung Gear S2 and the Moto360 soon.
